The glow of dawn's first light spreads across the horizon of Mojave National Preserve providing a silhouette of a particuarly tall Joshua Tree. By the way, did you know Joshua Trees really aren't trees? They're really a type of Yucca indigenous to the Mojave Desert. When the Mormon's crossed the desert and first encountered them they were reminded of the Old Testament prophet Joshua raising his arms in prayer, hence they called them Joshua Trees. Thanks to @NPPEMasterClass for introducing me to the #MojaveNationalPreserve through their fantastic photo programs. I'm in love with the Mojave and keep returning, completely lost track with how many times I've been there since attending their class. . .
